A look at possible reasons as well as intentions ... perhaps inconclusive.

So I was spending time watching a few videos, vlogs on YouTube. After maybe half a dozen videos, the same recurring theme of post industrial, consumerism based society. A clear collapse of the very fabric of community within most towns, and indeed cities, the length and breadth of the UK.
The vlogger capturing the feeling of the old and young alike. Mostly centred around how life has deteriorated compared to how it used to be.
Fly tipping, poor support services, drink and drug related problems, all adding to the decay of towns. Businesses, once the town's life blood, now abandoned. Large public buildings left destitute and abandoned.
The were a few glimmers of hope. Small pockets of resistance to the futility, helping the needy, giving them a voice and opportunity to improve their situation, but it was indeed rare.
The vlogger would often say "Well, it is what it is ...". Whilst I appreciated the connections he made, the small gestures and kind words of support, for people often down trodden. It got me thinking about the resilience of people, perhaps in other cultures, that had overcome far worse situations.
The mothers in an African state, that got so sick of losing their sons to violence, that they banded together to stop the bloodshed, by sheer resilience and strength.
I think modern western culture has taken certain powers away from the mother, some would argue the "sovereign" head of the family. In nature, it's the mother that will fight to the death for the survival of her children. To see stories in humanity that echo the same feels that, in some situations and cultures, we are aligned with nature.
I would also go as far as saying that in early Christianity, as well as older religions, the mother was indeed protector of the family. Suffering for her children, perhaps the hallmark of motherhood.
In some circumstances, I have bore witness to this, and it is endearing to see. There is something beautiful in this portrayal, likely unseen in other areas of life.
Perhaps this alone, was one of the cornerstones of the family unit, ensuring the survival of the next generation, passing on the same character attributes, the same way as genetics are handed down.
The domination by males of all walks of life over millennia, have thus eroded the effectiveness of this one attribute. Motherhood in modern culture is often painted in a completely different picture, and the role eroded, a shadow of it's former reality.
It's perhaps quite interesting that I recently came across an article related to the real reason for mother's day. Not to merely celebrate the mother's role in the family, but it was originally created by a mother figure in American history that was fighting against the civil war, responsible for sons fighting sons. It's such a shame that the truer meanings in history are so watered down and lost, forgotten meanings that preserve the original intentions and meaning. This truth would surely cast a light on today's many difficulties.
Rather than focus on one thing or aspect alone, I think it's also important to examine other periods in history where we faced equally tough and depressing times. How we overcame them, or how things changed, and whether it was for the better or worse. Bearing in mind, that the surface "good" is often a reflection of a deeper negative, which rears its head later on, often when it's too late.
When history has been so perverted and falsified, it's much harder to learn anything useful or meaningful from it. Preservation of control is first and foremost, and becomes obvious to the discerning observer.
Going back to my original observation, regarding the degradation of towns and cities, a phenomena experienced and yet with no apparent answers in sight.
The population seems barely in touch with the reality, seeking temporary distractions to feel good, only to return in ever increasing cycles of negativity.
As a result of the system collapse, the effects are limited to the bottom layers of society, the least wealthy, the original blood line that led to the generation of the wealth across the land.
I would argue that the original "sin" was to remove the role of the mother, as the natural protector of the family. And that society was perhaps purposely formed with this framework in mind. Perhaps I am wrong, but it feels like an important observation to make. In the same way that womanhood, and manhood for that matter, is under attack in the current climate. There is, and perhaps has been for sometime, a dilution of the natural roles, the nurturing and protecting roles of both parents. The confusion currently amongst new generations as to their identity, perhaps an intended extension of this cruel perversion.
I would also point out that, as with other qualities that make up someone's persona, these also extend to our natural feminine and masculine qualities, which has been well documented for millennia, within tribal cultures.
To begin to unpick the cause, and effect, of our current societal situation, it needs a clearer look at the original time before the change, which will make things clearer in order to fix some of the problems we face. What things are we missing? Often, looking at nature we can find answers, and it will lead us out of the dark times towards a better understanding of what and who we are up against.
