An exploration of truth and the ways that we can deal with it.

Control mechanisms

In many subjects or pastimes, I’ve increasingly noticed patterns in behaviours that just don’t make sense.

Enjoyment of a pastime seems secondary to winning, in any given sport for example. Out of perhaps hundreds of people taking part, only one winner emerges and is rewarded with a prize. The other downside is that the corporate interest is so great it’s destroyed the very “spirit of the game” and taking part is driven by money over the enjoyment of the individual.

The educational system as a whole is largely focussed on competition, offering little in the way of personal choice and catering for the individuals true passion and unharnessed creativity.

The one size fits all approach, does little to fully cater for every need of the individual. Often what’s on offer, what were once called “your options” were merely made up of what society required and companies could therefore profit from.

After thousands of years of survival, from predators and natural disasters, here we find ourselves trapped in the cycle of competing with each other for resources. In fact I’d go as far to say that we are the resource, and have been for at least the last few hundred years.

Religion

Whilst belief systems can perhaps be a positive thing, they also exhibit limiting factors. Once you “believe” in a truth, your eyes are closed to your own internal thought processes and you have a limited ability to question your faith.

There are many contradictions within religious texts. What about “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:”

Surely this could mean that whatever questions we ask, the answer will be provided. Are we only allowed to ask a priest or a wise man? Or are we actually allowed to use our own eyes and ears and seek the answer within ourselves? This makes more sense to me based on the idea that we are part of a greater “force”. Outside forces also have to answer for their part in any grand scheme, so essentially we are all in the same boat. No doubt self-appointed religious figures would disagree in this respect.

Education

“History is written by the victors”. So we should perhaps learn of the many experiences of the victims, first hand of course.

Aside from the most basic elementary skills that will have at least some value in the outside world, as previously mentioned, the majority of things taught in schools are for the purpose of preparing us to partake in a fully exploited cycle of existence.

As with all deeply narcissistic relationships, our rulers see us as a valuable resource, perhaps worth millions of dollars from the moment we are born. How better to ready us, than to capture our developing minds before we are fully awake to our own individual thoughts and feelings.

Nationalism and Patriotism

Another external control mechanism that limits our individual thoughts, replacing them with very narrow and less diverse thinking. Furthermore, depending on the political persuasion of the ruling party, the masses are pressured into aligning with a particular viewpoint, often using mob mentality to destroy any counter narrative.

Often several control mechanisms will be used side by side, in order to strengthen the effects of the propaganda being applied.

Ownership

Throughout our lives we are told that we must either purchase a house, or if we aren’t able to buy, we have to rent a property. This, along with taxation, is perhaps the greatest burden placed upon us once we become independent of our family home.

Of course, we never actually own the property, or the land it’s built on for most of the time that we are residents. The banks manage to profit around 3 times the original price of the property, at least in the UK, and the government also benefits a great amount in taxes throughout the period of ownership.

On top of this, most people are coerced into having to connect with “services” that are subject to price changes and yet further taxation.

It’s interesting that any group of people that have any desire to escape this “property trap” often face harsh difficulties.

My own belief is that land should be accessible to all, in particular coastal areas, which are often mostly privately owned and inaccessible without paying for the privilege. Large “estates” should be open for public use and enjoyed. Providing areas for camping, sports and recreation with no charge for access, as well as areas earmarked for a return to small farms and smallholdings in particular.

Entertainment & Media

With the evolution of technology came further methods of mass indoctrination, particularly in television and the internet. Both have undergone major changes, pushing the boundaries of culture and the adoption of false narratives in order to drive forward oppressive agendas.

For example, the voice of the media can be utilised to label a freedom fighter as a terrorist, a bad actor as a whistle blower and anyone that directly threatens the agenda with cancellation. It can also be used to effect direct action controlled behaviour of the mob, always eager to direct their anger at the minority in the name of some “ism”.

Concluding thoughts

My main reason for writing about this, isn’t just to point out the mechanisms of control, most people are probably already aware of, although to what extent?

If we are all programmed in these various ways all throughout our lives — who would we be without the effects of it?

How do we get back control to our lives, and be rid of all the nonsense?

I have seen attempts by some to live outside of the constraints of society, although it would seem that our behaviors are so ingrained, it restricts us from making truly radical changes, changes that are perhaps needed to properly experience a life changing event.

We have grown accustomed to our toys and comforts and will probably fight any force and reject any idea or indeed "ideal" that threatens to take them away.

However, all I can offer is a voice, of a thought. A feeling that I’ve been struggling with for a long time. Whilst scientists talk about the possibility of us living in a simulation, perhaps it’s just a life that we are not fully connected with.

The control mechanisms are in place. Whether you view them as a problem or completely normal is a different matter. All civilizations come to an end, or at the very least, are forced to abruptly change.

I strongly suggest anyone reading this to invest more time in yourself. Your own thoughts and feelings matter. You are part of something bigger and better than anything on the outside, in the material world. Your essence (or soul) is infinite, not temporary. You could look for it in interactions with yourself and indeed others, this I believe would, in turn, make the world a better and entirely genuine place to live.

Try to see yourself within its own beautiful light and not as some avatar or name on the outside. The more we practice this then perhaps the world will be a less “noisy” place, devoid of all the vitriol and rendering the power struggles as mere sideshows, allowing our gaze to become fixed on the absolute truth ahead.

Thanks for reading.
